Found this sight researching atlas profilax. I think I will hold off for now. I have been suffering from neck and head pain for ten years. I have been all over the nation and have not found any relief from any "Traditional M.D.s". The only thing that has helped me is a therapy call Prolotherapy. It is an injection that stimulates the body to repair and stregthen connective tissus. I was seeing a NUCCA chiro for three months but it seemed everytime I would get an atlas adjustment, it would just slip out within a couple days. Leaving me with only temporary relief. Thats were prolotherapy comes in.. By strengthening the ligaments that hold the atlas in place I now feel pretty good after only 1 treatment. There are many prolotherapists but only a few that treat c0-c1 area. The doctor I see does it under fluoroscopy. Coming from someone that was completly miserable before this treatment I would strongly recommend it or at least look into it.

I've wondered why chiropractic is so anti-injection when they have no effective treatments for ligament instability. It would seem that Prolotherapy might be a good addition. I'm glad its helping you. Good luck.

Im back to the forum just to let everybody know that i finally tried NUCCA after a lot of thought and thank god i did...It changed my life! Everybody here thats a skeptic its your right to b but i know the truth cause im living proof that Atlas missalignment exist and i dont wish it on anyone i suffered enough.Im glad to say Im almost 100% in only a month. Im really amazed by this considering i tried everything before and docs couldnt even figure it out they just told me to go to physio cause my MRI didnt show any serious structural damage.I was losing hope and i was so depresed untill i saw cleo's post about her situation and i never saw anybody discribing the same exact symptoms i was having thats why i believed her i was going through the same thing she was going through..At the end she said she got treated by a NUCCA specialist, thats how i discovered NUCCA i never heard of it before. I dd my research and saw there was no danger trying it thats why i decided to go with it and boy am i glad i did.Learned a lot about how the human body fixes itself and the muscles slowly go back into place thats why in the begining its normal to loose your adjustment a few times but eventually it holds for a week usually wihthin 3 weeks and then a month and then 3 months or sometimes a year. I can understand why theres not a lot of NUCCA specialists cause its not the easiest technique to learn and also to make money with cause a lot of ppl dont understand it...Bottom line is Im better now and i can function normally and i can drive no problem.Everyhting is back to normal and only getting better. Its good to b skeptical but if u dont know 100% that something doesnt work dont tell ppl not to try it cause this thing changes lives and yes i do belive in spinal subluxation now and Atlas missalignment im living proof.

direct22,
Congratulations on your experience. My problem with NUCCA is that there is so much that it doesn't take into account that it is a gamble whether or not it will help a patient. I hope your condition continues to be good.

direct22 glad you are feeling great. I am in the same boat as you. You might also look into bio-cranial treatment. Just as amazing as NUCCA. Really.
