DG, We all have to keep on keeping on. There is no end to quackery just like there is no end to car thieves or arsonists. I'm grateful there are people out trying to stop the car thieves and arsonists. Think how the world could be if no one was there trying to foil them.
Likewise if no one made a peep about the quacks, the world would be worse. At least by making a bit of noise, a few people are noticing. It won't stop the quacks completely, but it might save a few dozen or hundred or thousand people from getting into their clutches, and it might steer a few dozen or hundred or thousand people away from taking quack training. We all have to do what we can.
So don't take it personally that GR is still blathering on with his MR. It's not your fault, it's his. Just keep on keeping on. Cheers.

I just found this at http://www.ashcompanies.com/data/pdf/resources/procedures/MatrixRepatterning.pdf
This is from a June 21, 2007 Clinical Practice Guideline
American Specialty Health, has passed judgement on matrix repatterning stating:
"Matrix Repatterning is considered to be scientifically implausible, does not meet professionally accepted standards, and lacks research and literature for efficacy and/or utility. Use of this technique/procedure shall be cause for failure to meet ASHA criteria for network participation."
We already knew this, of course, but it's nice to see the self proclaimed "Nation's leading provider of chiropractic" spell it out.
George Roth, the mastermind behind MR is now using research proposals to push his shtick. His latest is "Proposed Research: Role of Matrix Repatterning in improving cardiac function" at http://www.rothinstitute.com/practitioners/articles/Pr_cardiac.html.
Would anyone care to comment on this new approach to self referent aggrandizement? It's one thing to write your own stories/anecdotes/case histories, it is entirely a new level of sophistication to write proposals for stories/anecdotes/case histories.
I have to admit that I am pleased to see that the ASH has taken official note of and condemned MR.
Can anyone tell me what the American Speciality Health is, btw?

Here is further info from the ASH website at http://www.ashcompanies.com/data/pdf/res....erminations.pdf
American Speciality Health Affiliates has gone as far as stating that it considers Matrix Repatterning (among other techniques):
"to pose a health and safety risk or indicate an approach to patient evaluation and management that does not meet professionally accepted standards and which shall be cause for failure to meet American Specialty Health credentialing / recredentialing criteria."
Is the ASH a pro chiropractic funding agency in other words calling quackery quackery?

I recently was treated by a chiropractor using matrix repatterning and it seemed weird to me. He "scanned" me with one hand while pushing on my thigh with another. He was not able to give me any research showign the efficacy of this technique so I started looking on the net and found Chirotalk and a number of videos. Much of what was said in this thread fits in with my experience with matrix repatterning. In searching for videos on matrix repatterning I found a number of them http://www.viddler.com/Beed34. Does anyone here have any experience with matrix repatterning? It didn't really do anything for me.
